Even though the majority of of Muslims are peaceful, law-abiding citizens who do not wish to fight or declare jihad on their neighbors and colleagues, such moderates are irrelevant in the ware we are fighting. Most Germans were moderate as well. Their moderation did not stop the Nazis from killing 14 million people in concentration camps and costing the world 60 million lives. Most Russians were peaceful as well. However, Russian Communists cost the world 20 million lives. The same goes for most Japanese prior to World War II. Yet Japan was responsible for the killing of 12 million Chinese. The moderate majority was irrelevant.

Most moderate Muslims do not know the words of the Koran and are not religious enough to read the Hadith and the Sira, which have even worse commandments regarding declaring war on the infidels and killing them. Whenever moderates and radicals get into a debate about Islam, radicals always win because they back their statements with "facts" from the holy book while nonreligious Muslims cannot.

The essence of conservatism is an attempt to have altruism and freedom; it is essentially an attempt to obscure and evade basic principles. Saying of McCain that "at least he's better than Obama" means seeing him as a mixture of pro-altruism and pro-freedom elements. But conservatives are not just disintegrated mixtures; they are essentially compromised. It is wrong to see them as simply a mixture of good and bad in whom the good can be fostered. A conservative is never going to allow the advocacy of freedom to diminish his fundamental commitment to faith and altruism.

Today I chose to abstain on principle. Mr Blair's article is a perfect summation of why even though Obama is potentially the most vile President in America history, deep down, I am hoping that I do not wake up tomorrow to discover the Republicans are still in charge.

If America -- the America of individualism, capitalism, wealth, adventure, invention, heroism, and joyous optimism -- is going to survive and surpass its earlier heights -- Conservatism must be thrown on the ash can. It must become a historic relic, never to be revived. Americans need to fight for reason and individualism. Not a meaningless chant of Reagan, Reagan, Reagan... Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.... Palin, Palin, Palin.

Although the election of 2008 is not yet over, and even though I abstained, I will make a prediction here today for 2012. If the Republicans offer Palin and/or Huckabee in 2012, I am going to be voting for Obama with gusto.

I have no recommendation yet for who the GOP could offer me to make up for eight years of Bush, eighteen months of a campaigning McCain, and three months of gushing over Palin, but who ever it is, an apology is in order for the Republicans transgression against America; the America they claimed to be defending. After writing An Open Letter to Olga Kurylenko last night, I got to thinking about Bryan Larsen's Just the Beginning.

In the context of the letter to Ms. Kurylenko, I want to say Mr. Larsen's Just the Beginning perfectly portrays how beauty, happiness, and wealth should be viewed, nurtured, and revered.

I came across an interesting article today about an open letter from The Communists of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region.

In the letter, The Communists wrote, "The Soviet Union gave you free education, free medical care but nobody knew you would commit an act of intellectual and moral betrayal that you would become a movie kept girl of Bond, who in his movies kills hundreds of Soviet people and citizens of other socialist countries: Cubans, Vietnamese, North Koreans, Chinese and Nicaraguans".

In response, I would like to write Olga Kurylenko my own open letter:

Dear Ms. Kurylenko,

I know every little about you. Quantum of Solace will be the first of your films I will see.

After reading the reported parts of the letter that The Communists of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region wrote to you, I want to say congratulations to you on making a successful career for yourself in modeling and then successfully making the transition to Hollywood.

To start in poverty in a communist country and still be able to maintain the sense of self and benevolent view life required to become a world-class model and actress is truly heroic.

I can imagine no worse childhood then to grow up in a country where wealth, happiness, and beauty are consistently portrayed and enforced as evil. For escaping from such a country and making a life for yourself, you deserve the greatest of praise.

I hope you see the irony of the claim that you are some how being immoral and unjust playing a Bond girl simply because James Bond "kills hundreds of Soviet people and citizens of other socialist countries: Cubans, Vietnamese, North Koreans, Chinese and Nicaraguans". The irony being that Bond fictionally killing hundreds of evil individuals is seen as worse than communists actually killing tens of millions of their own real citizens.

Unlike some, I do not view your struggle as justification or payment for your happiness and success. I wish you did not have to struggle. Your beauty and your effort are the only justifications needed for your success. My pleasure in admiring your beauty and work is separate and independent of your early struggle -- heroic though it was.

You have earned the right to be happy. I wish you continued joy and success.
